| Current Status: | On 24 November 2004 the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry appointed Mr A W Graham of KPMG LLP, 2 Cornwall Street, Birmingham, West Midlands B3 2DL and Mr R H Kelly of Ernst & Young, PO Box 61, Cloth Hall Court, 14 King Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS1 2JN as joint liquidators of the companies’ estates. On the basis of information obtained in the course of the Official Receiver’s preliminary investigation, it appears that “Coldseal”, a nationwide domestic windows and doors replacement business, was acquired by The Carthium Group Limited on 14 July 2004. The business included manufacturing, sales and installation operations at around 40 sites all over the country. The intention appears to have been to place appropriate parts of the business in the various group companies. In October 2004 the companies sought the agreement of Heywood Williams plc, a major supplier and creditor, to a financial restructuring of the business. When this was not successful, Heywood Williams plc issued winding-up petitions. The companies applied for the appointment of Administrators, but this was unsuccessful and the Court made the winding-up orders. The companies are no longer trading. The Report to Creditors was issued on 17 January 2005.
